Frequently Asked Questions¶
What is Wordalytics ?¶
Wordalytics is a web-based solution to analyzing the text contents of websites.
How can I tell the status of a job?¶
In your *Report Repository page, you'll find a status indicator for each job. Status can be
- Queued means that the job is currently queued and has not yet started.
- Crawling means that the website content is currently being downloaded.
- Processing indicates that the website has been downloaded and the analysis engine has started to produce reports. You can click on the URL in the Report Repository page and start viewing the results.
- Complete shows that the job has been processed successfully.
- Error highlights that there was an error. You can click on the status to view the error.
How do I share my Wordalytics report with the client whose website I have analyzed?¶
In your *Report Repository page you'll find a button to share the Wordalytics report. Simply enter the Name and the Email address and we'll do the rest.
How do I report a problem?¶
In your *Report Repository page you'll find a button to report an issue for a given job. We'll try to respond within 24-48 hours.
The spelling section shows words that are correctly spelled¶
Although we constantly update our spelling dictionary, there are always words (often names or places) that are not included. Our aim was to not allow any false positives (i.e. misspelled word that are not identified). Unfortunately this also means that sometimes correctly spelled words also show up in our analysis.
What is the difference between All and Core?¶
- All: We are using all words from a particular page and feed them to the various tests. This would include text used in headers, menus and footer.
- Core: Here we aim to identify the core text of a web page. Basically, the section that is actually related to the page, discarding header, footer, menus and other smaller parts of content. Some pages don't have a core text.
What are the different submission options?¶
- Regular Submission: Simply enter the URL and press Submit. This will then crawl and analyze your entire website.
- Advanced Submit via Selection: This option allows you to submit a URL and prior to processing lets you select the individual pages you want to analyze. This option is suitable if you want to submit a web site that has more pages than your account allowance
- Advanced Submit via site-map: This option lets you submit a site-map of all individual pages you want to analyze from one website. Please note that all site-map URLs need to belong to the main URL submitted.
Does Wordalytics work on all languages?¶
Unfortunately not entirely. We are working on adding different language analysis but at present, English is the only language that is fully supported. However, many of the tests are language independent such as the SEO insights, HTTP Codes, External URLs, Some of the Linguistics insights and the Similarity test.
